OHBM Award Winners of 2026!
Congratulations to the 2026 OHBM Award Winners and Fellows!
Each year, the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) celebrates researchers whose contributions advance our understanding of the human brain and strengthen the community behind that work. These awards recognize scientific achievement alongside educational efforts, mentorship, openness, inclusive and diverse practices, as well as sustainability that support progress in our field.
We are delighted to congratulate this year’s recipients, recognized at the 2026 OHBM Annual Meeting in Bordeaux, France. Their achievements reflect the many ways researchers contribute to human brain mapping, from developing new knowledge to making research more accessible, reproducible, and environmentally responsible.
The 2026 OHBM Award Winners are:
Diversity and Inclusivity Champion Award: Tilak Ratnanather, recognizing contributions to a more diverse and inclusive human brain mapping community.
Early Career Investigator Award: Matthew F. Glasser, recognizing outstanding contributions to the field of brain mapping while early in the research career.
Education in Neuroimaging Award: Angela Laird, recognizing contributions to neuroimaging education and training.
Glass Brain Award: Tianzi Jiang, recognizing influential research advancing knowledge of human brain organization and function.
Karl Zilles Award in Integrative Neuroscience: Valerie J. Sydnor, recognizing research that connects modern neuroanatomical approaches with multimodal in vivo neuroimaging.
Mentor Award: Pedro Antonio Valdes-Sosa, recognizing leadership in supporting the development of students and researchers.
Open Science Award: Christopher J. Markiewicz, recognizing sustained contributions to open science in human brain mapping.
Replication Award: Renate Schweizer, recognizing contributions to replication research and reproducibility in neuroimaging.
Sustainability Award: Charlotte Rae, recognizing efforts to advance environmentally responsible research and awareness of sustainability within the OHBM community.
We also congratulate the 2026 Fellows of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping, whose fellowship recognizes sustained academic and intellectual leadership across the disciplines represented by OHBM:
Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients and Fellows, and thank you for your contributions to human brain mapping and to the people who make this research possible.
