Next Stops for OHBM: Toronto, Canada in 2027 and Yokohama, Japan in 2028

We are thrilled to announce the locations for our next two upcoming Annual Meetings! The 2027 OHBM Annual Meeting will be held in Toronto, Canada, followed by the 2028 OHBM Annual Meeting in Yokohama, Japan.

Each OHBM Annual Meeting serves as a global forum for researchers, clinicians, and professionals to share the latest developments in neuroimaging and neuroscience. These meetings reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing our understanding of the human brain. Both Toronto and Yokohama provide a gathering place for productive science, professional networking, and community building.

OHBM-led Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) have been selected for each location and are excited to welcome you to their community. These OHBM members play a vital role in shaping the meeting experience, ensuring strong local engagement and smooth coordination with the host institutions. Further information on each location can be found below:

OHBM 2027: Toronto, Canada

Toronto, Canada’s largest city and a global center for research and innovation, will provide an exceptional setting for the 2027 meeting. Known for its diverse academic community and commitment to scientific advancement, Toronto offers outstanding facilities and a welcoming environment for the international neuroscience community. The OHBM annual meeting returns to Toronto after 22 years, having last been held here in 2005.

We are thrilled to welcome the OHBM to Toronto in 2027! Prepare to meet our world-class research community, and immerse yourself in a diverse metropolitan experience surrounded by spectacular Canadian nature, promising an unforgettable cultural journey.” - Jean Chen, OHBM 2027 LOC

"Toronto is an amazing city which has a lot to offer for OHBM attendees. Foodies, art lovers, and nature enthusiasts will all find something to enjoy in Toronto and the surrounding area (Niagara Falls is a short drive away!). I am truly excited for OHBM members to visit the city I've called home for just over 15 years." - Rosanna Olsen, OHBM 2027 LOC

OHBM 2028: Yokohama, Japan

In 2028, we will convene in Yokohama, Japan - just 30 minutes south of Tokyo. Yokohama is a city that seamlessly combines tradition and modernity, bridging decades of scientific knowledge with the latest advances in research. As one of Japan’s leading centers for science and technology, Yokohama offers state-of-the-art venues and strong regional engagement in brain research, making it an ideal host for our global community. This is the second time that the OHBM Annual Meeting will be held in Japan; the 2002 meeting was held in Sendai.

We are excited that OHBM 2028 will take place in Yokohama, a city that has been a gateway of cultural exchange and innovation since its opening to the world. With excellent accessibility, high-quality conference facilities and accommodations, and strong support from the local community, Yokohama provides an ideal setting for the OHBM, an interdisciplinary international meeting where diverse researchers come together to spark new scientific developments.” - Hiromasa Takemura, OHBM 2028 LOC
